YEARS EVENTS

2008 Was a great year for us and we saw the surprise arrival of Matilda II at the start of the year who went on to do very well winning at a local level on a number of occasions and a 3rd and best yearling at Royal Windsor. She has now moved on to a lovely home near Gatwick and we wish Leslie and her family all the best, she is going to make the most wonderful children’s ridden pony.

Walkham Peat our stallion had some great results including a 2nd at Kent County and at Leeds Castle; also he won both his Novice and Open PUK Winter Qualifiers in October. He also covered five mares all of which appear to have held. He was sent to Cherry Tops in Exeter to be backed and came home in January 2009, they have done a great job and we are really pleased with his attitude to being ridden and look forward to showing him both inhand and under saddle this year.

Sherberton Barn Owl who has always been great in the show ring had our first home bred foal this year Dixieland Barn Dance who is a lovely black filly, she is due to foal mid May ‘09. Both Owly and Missi went to the Southern Dartmoor Show and both finished 2nd in Novice mare and foal class, Missi then went on to be shown on her own at PUK Winter Qualifiers where she placed 2nd in a big Open class beating three Sec A Stallions! She has also qualified for the NPS Spring Champs at Malvern finishing second in her qualifier for that.

Cosdon Annastasia cam to us in June and is half sister to Moortown Honeyman and Moortown Countryman. She was shown locally and at county level finishing 2nd at Royal Berkshire and won at Highstead placing as Reserve Champion, her foal is due Mid May.

Watts Willow was shown only once this year at Leeds Castle where she finished 6th in a large class for best potential driven, her foal is due early May.

Finally we had another new arrival in November with Sherberton Daphnis who was fresh off the moor and not halter broken when we got him. But he came around very quickly and we are itching to get him out to his first shown in hand, we have high hope for this boy in the ring as he is going to be up to full height.
